DeGrom is sailing along, 6 innings, 3 hits, no runs, and ONLY 77 PITCHES. But they take him out because he hasn't pitched in 10 days. Shouldn't that mean he's
more than fully rested?
Managers all across baseball have taken the easy way out. Rather than letting an ace finish what he has started - sure it could backfire, but only 77 pitches? - they take him out in favor of a couple of nobodies who proceed to throw away the game.
How many wins would deGrom have by now if this did not keep happening to him? Don't care what the theorists will say. The simple fact is,
