I miss having the "thanks" button, because it made me spend time typing this instead of giving me the lazy option of simply thanking rudel.dietrich for his post, since I agree with everything he said...especially the part about making the GM side of the game be more consequential than simply hiring coaches, buying free agents and making trades.

I understand that there's not really anyplace left to go with online leagues (which is pretty much the only thing I play). They work great, and with the addition of allowing online GMs the ability to submit trades in the game, it's near perfection. So, I don't expect major changes from year-to-year. I am still underwhelmed by the ballpark creator, but I don't play out that many games to begin with, and Perfect Team holds zero interest for me.

I buy this game yearly (even when I got a copy for free as a tester) for its fantastic depth and customizability, for its dedicated developers, and for the many, many hours of fun it provides me.

I'm not saying that it has reached perfection, and I'd love to see the aforementioned GM enhancements, but if all they do is put out bug fixes and AI improvements, it's worth the $1.14 per day that I spend on it each year (less with discounts).

"Beings will come, Frodo. The one constant through all the years has been baseball. Middle Earth has rolled by like an army of Mumakil. It has been erased like a slate, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Frodo. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... beings will come Frodo. Beings will most definitely come." - Gladden Field of Dreams
