This is the kind of stuff that makes me think we're spinning our wheels a lot for little traction. Take a look at Ted Wilks and Todd Worrell. Almost identical cards, Wilks rated 83, Worrell rated 86.
What can we conclude?
1) The OVR ratings should be closer (none of the other ratings are much different)
2) Based on my use of these players, Wilks is great - Worrell stinks.
3) The variations of what happens in a game are far greater than the ratings on a card (especially for Relief pitchers who pitch so few innings).
So. Here I am trying to decide if there is anyone on the relief staff I can make an incremental change -and the bottom line there is no logical reason to pick one of these players over the other...
Not bitching here, by the way, just frustrating that the ratings we spend so much effort on - in the end - have very little to do with what happens on the field.
So, I guess for now I don't do anything with these two players - until I can replace them with someone who is head and shoulders above them.
