Walkers news: Oct. 2 -- St. Louis 8, Des Moines 1

Record: 94-68, 2nd, 5 GB Des Moines
Jesse McNaboe shook off a month-plus of mediocre starts with six strong innings and he picked up his Midwest Baseball League-high 18th victory as St. Louis wrapped up its regular season with an 8-1 win over Des Moines at Green Canyon Park.
The River Walkers took the final two games of the series in lopsided fashion -- outscoring the Harvesters 22-2 -- as Des Moines elected to rest its starting pitchers with a playoff berth already clinched.
McNaboe (18-10) won for the first time since Sept. 8, having allowed one run on five hits in his six innings. He struck out four and walked one.
Tied 1-1, the Walkers busted the game open with seven runs in the top of the seventh.
Three straight singles, including a run-scoring single from Jean Carmona, off reliever Sam Stoutenborough, opened the inning and gave St. Louis a 2-1 lead.
Reliever Dave Vacarri took over and was greeted by an RBI double from pinch-hitter Nathaniel Dixon.
Alex Greene followed with a fly ball, which scored another run to make it 4-1.
A two-run homer on a 2-0 pitch to Jose Ramirez, his 40th of the season, made it 6-1.
Daniel Becerra had an RBI single and Jovan Gill drew a bases-loaded walk to plate the inning's final two tallies.
Cory Tiller, Nick Ruffalo and Kevin Baker all pitched scoreless inning to close out the 94th win of the season for St. Louis.
