We handled the Gothams series well, winning 3 of the 4 games. We also swept the Keystones last week. However we dropped 2 of 3 to Detroit and were swept by a hot Boston club--winners of 7 in a row. The big series this week will be 3 games in Pittsburgh.

Top Performances:
* Bob Martin: .500/.533/.571, 2 2B, 6 RBI
* Len Jones: .400/.423/.400, 4 RBI
* Ron Coles: 1-0, 2.60
* Al Miller: 1-1, 1.86
Outside of
Bob Martin, it was difficult to find some top performances--which explains why we are 4-5 over the past week. We are missing
Jim Hampton, who hasn't played much since straining his achilles tendon last weekend. He had 1 pinch hit double this past week, and his .374 average is now leading the Fed. He should be back at full strength this week.
Al Miller won his second Rookie of the Month Award in May.
Ron Coles has been on a good run. Since the beginning of May he is 3-0 and has lowered his ERA by a full run.
