1985 - NL West Champs
Cincinnati got their magic number down to 1 but had to face San Diego's Cy Young candidate Rick Reuschel (22-6) but they pounced on him to the tune of 7 runs on 12 hits in 5.1 innings on their way to10-3 win and an NL West championship! The offense was paced by Jerry Remy (3/5, 3 Runs, 2 RBI's), Rick Peters (2/3, 4 RBI's) and 2 hits apiece from Howard Johnson, Larry Parrish, Mickey Tettleton, Dan Driessen, and Lee Mazzili. Mike Norris (8-12) pitched 7 strong innings for the win. The Reds will face the New York Mets for the NL crown.
This gives Cincinnati their 4th crown in the past 6 years and they won the World Series in '80 and '83.
