Walkers news: June 7 -- St. Louis 4, Madison 3

Record: 25-35, 6th, 13.5 GB Des Moines
St. Louis jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning -- and helped by 6.1 strong innings from Xavier Wigfall, who allowed just one run -- the River Walkers snapped a five-game losing streak with a 4-3 win at Busch Stadium (2006).
Jose Segura came up with the big hit of that first inning, with a two-run, two-out triple off Muskies starting pitcher Efrain Garcia.
Segura scored when Kyren Paris followed with a single.
Wigfall (4-6) allowed one run on four hits in his 6.1 innings.
He exited after allowing a one-out single to Yan C. Dixon in the seventh
Oscar Martinez came on to get out of that inning without a run scoring.
An RBI double from Jovan Gill off Madison reliever Chris Conway put St. Louis ahead 4-1 going into the ninth.
The Walkers went to their closer, Ernesto Barbosa, to end it.
He brought nothing to the mound, allowing three straight singles to load the bases with none out.
He struck out Dixon for the first out, but followed that with a walk to Cesar Salazar to make it 4-2.
Scott Rissler replaced Barbosa and got Mitch Bernier to hit into a fielder's choice, scoring the inning's second run.
Rissler, however, got Jose Reyes to ground out, and give him his first save of the season.
