The Max Kepler era in Texas is over, and what a massive flop that trade has become.
David Dahl has been very good for the Twins (.844 OPS) and has remained healthy.

Welcome to the Rangers, Whit Merrifield! He will be our new RF!

Merrifield is nice having a nice season (.868 OPS) and Kepler has been awful (.544 OPS & -1.0 WAR).

Kepler was guaranteed to make $8.5m next season (his age 30 season) and Merrifield has a team option for $6.5m (he will be 34 years old in January).

Wes Benjamin (soon to be 29) is a replaceable arm from our upper minors who has one option year remaining.
The other three pieces are throw-ins to make the deal work (Charleston replaces Strahm in A+).
