1985 - Regular Season Ends!
The regular season has ended and the playoffs have been set. While Milwaukee faltered in the end, you can't blame it on Willie Upshaw. The Brewers first baseman captured the AL Triple Crown hitting .337 with 56 HR's and 151 RBI's! He also led the AL cracking 216 hits and scoring 128 runs while posting a .415 OB%, .658 Slugging %, a 1.073 OPS with a WAR of 10.1. His closest competition was 9 points behind in average (Paul Molitor, SEA), 11 HR's behind (Jose Canseco, TOR), and 26 RBI's back (Jose Canseco, TOR). It was truly a season without peer!
Meanwhile, my 1st round pick Dan Pasqua joined the team on August 1 and hit .294 with 18 HR's and 46 RBI's in 59 games. When you add that to his AAA totals, he accounted for 64 HR's and 165 RBI's while hitting .317/.407/1.078 over 160 games in AAA and the Majors. Hopefully, he'll give Upshaw some competition over a full season next year.
