MACEDO, HANLON AND OSINSKI SNARE TYCOBBIAN UNION TOP AWARDS
The 2068 Tycobbian Union Awards went to Gabriel Macedo of Kenwood, Caine Hanlon of South Fork and Sasha Osinski of Southport... the TU Golden Bat went to Macedo, the TU Golden Arm to Hanlon and the TU Rookie of the Year was Osinski.
Gabriel Macedo was the best batter in the Tycobbian Union this year... followed by two Rolling Hills' stars Terry Stonich and Jimmy Brandini... the Kenwood outfielder picked up his second TU Golden Bat... he also won it last year... the 34-year-old veteran right fielder hit his way to the Golden Bat trophy with a .329 BA, 197 hits, 22 doubles, 2 triples and 55 homers... Macedo also scored 111 runs and drove in 139 runs... he paced the IPA in RBIs and wound up second in homers.
It was a standout season for the TU Golden Arm, Caine Hanlon, a first-time honoree... his South Fork Stallions languished in 6th place, but the 28-year-old right hander still chalked up a superb 21-8 mark with an impressive 2.33 ERA in 263 innings and 32 starts... Gino Angeletti of the Red Bluff Red Sox wound up in the runner-up spot in the Golden Arm poll... and Billy Pearl of the Turon Typhoons finished in third place.
The Tycobbian Rookie of the Year Sasha Osinski played an important role in the Southport Sun Sox winning the pennant in the TU South by putting some perk and punch inTO the lineup... the talented first sacker batted .296 in 135 games, racking up 155 hits, 22 homers, 80 ribbies and 72 runs scored... Denton City center fielder Emmett Harman was second in the newcomer poll and hurler Franco Sevilla of the Luxora Zorros came in third.
