Vault 95 Begins Construction

Vault 95 is making a push to one day be a site for a CBO team, announcing today that it has begun construction on the first Commonwealth indoor stadium, dubbed the Glowing Sea Dome.

The field will feature a G.E.C.K.-generated indoor natural grass that will be aided by a "skylight," a windowed roof to provide daily sunlight. The field will be completely indoors otherwise, keeping it safe from the frequent radstorms that cause delays and postponements of Vault 95 (affiliate of Vault 81) games.

While construction has begun, there is no current timeline for the completion of the "Dome." Vault 95 mayor Pokie Prod said that it would take some time, so enthusiasm for the stadium needs to be kept in check.

"I would hope it takes less than five years," Prod said. "It could take 20. It all depends on getting materials here. keeping a crew working, and working around the almost-daily radstorms. It will not be a quick process like a sole survivor throwing up some shacks in a settlement. This is work. Hard work."

Warwick Mirelurks Ship 3rd-Round Pick to Sunshine Tidings

Warwick and Sunshine Tidings announced some roster changes today as the Mirelurks acquired 25-year-old RHP Vince Moon from the Chemists in exchange for 25-year-old minor league 3B Dusty Tangeman and 19-year-old 3rd-round pick 2B Brennan Lighthouse. Representatives from both teams say they are pleased with the deal.

During his career, Moon has a 2-5 record. He has 59 strikeouts in 71.1 innings and has made 62 appearances, picking up 13 saves and posting a 5.17 ERA.

Lighthouse has some decent talent for a third-rounder, which could lead him to a future in the CBO. He has good range and played SS in the BYDL. He is aggressive defensively and at the plate, making good use of bad pitches when batting. He is speedy, which helps him both for stealing bases and nabbing bunt singles. He is a bland diet rather than a spicy plate, but he could be a solid starter at either 2B or SS. Lighthouse is considered to be a character guy, with little to dislike, but he will need good coaching with the Chemists organization to thrive.

Finch Farm/Galleria Follow-Up

A week ago, we reported about the Glowing Sea disaster involving members of Finch Farm's minor league players taking a team-bonding trip to the Glowing Sea. Today we have more to report.

According to sources at Vault 95, two players are recovering well and will suffer no ill effects from their radscorpion injuries: SP Machine Man Fortune and 3B David Yellowsky. The other four players are still in intensive care with various serious injuries. Relatedly, it is reported that SP Mike Hamman's injuries, while possibly survivable, will render him unable to play baseball again and the Finch Farm organization has placed him on the Unavaliable-Retirement list.

The 35-year-old Hamman appeared in seven total games with the Four Leafs (2296 and 2299). Most of his time was spent with Galleria, where he appeared in 64 total games from 2297 through 2299. He had a record of 6-2 with three saves and a 2.58 ERA.

Owner Abraham Finch has also announced that his team would be looking further into the matter of whether or not this was a team-sponsored event rather than the reported "players choice." We will report if there are any updates.
