Game 1: The Rays routed Texas 11-3 with a 5-run 4th breaking it open. Manuel Margot was 3-6 with a homer (#2) leading off the game and 2 RBI, with Brandon Lowe (#2) and Willy Adames (#1) going yard as well. Christian Vazquez and Adames each had 3 hits as the team totaled 17. Matt Peacock was brilliant in his first Rays win, going 6.2 3 1 1 4 9.

Game 2: Ryan Yarbrough pitched well but didn't get the win once again as Texas scored 4 times in the 7th to take a 5-2 win, ending their hideous 0-7 start. Joey Gallo homered twice off Yarbs, who went 6.1 4 3 3 0 3 but Aaron Fletcher was the one who imploded in the Texas rally. Brandon Lowe homered again (#3) for one of the Tampa Bay runs.

Game 3: The 4th inning was big again for the Rays as they scored 6 times on their way to an 8-3 win over Texas. Francisco Mejia had a 2-run single and Vidal Brujan a 2-run double in the inning while Luis Patino shook off a bad first inning (2 runs allowed) after a bad first start to even his record at 1-1, going 5 6 2 2 2 3 with Rafael Dolis and Josh Fleming each pitching 2 innings. Brandon Lowe suffered a mild ab strain and will miss a couple of games.

Team record: 5-4. Next up: Boston comes to the Trop for 3 games.
