I think trading a players rights to another team might need some tweaking. I traded 2 players rights just before the season started, both a 2.0/2.0, to two different teams and got their second round pick in the following year's draft.

They were also 24-26 years old at this point so I wouldn't think they would turn into significant players - certainly not worth a second round pick.
If it matters, my GM/Head Coach has been around long enough that all of his stats are maxxed at 20. Not sure if maybe that's why I'm getting some favorable trades.

Some minor things I would like to see:
1) be able to sort columns when looking at things like NHL/History/Draft - I think it would be nice to be able to click on the columns to sort by games player, goals, points, etc... Sometimes it's interesting to look back at old drafts.

2) Very minor thing here as I know the messages are fluff, but I once traded a player for a pick and the message said "i'm really looking forward to playing for the Penguins". But I got a pick, not a player

3) I think getting, perhaps monthly, suggestion of players currently on the trade block that we should try and get. Or suggestions of players we should put on the trade block.
I know we could turn the assistant on but I'd rather handle the trading myself but think it would still be cool to get reports. Something like:

"Player X hasn't been playing well for us despite being talented, perhaps we should look for a trade partner. He might benefit from a new environment."

or "Player A is on a fairly cheap contract and is currently on team B's trading block. We could use a good right wing."

(they could even suggest what to offer in trade for that player).
"I think perhaps a 3 round pick would be enough to land Player A"

4) Again, I know we can have the assistant handle signings, but this too I generally prefer to do myself, at least during the season but I also wouldn't mind suggestions on unsigned players that we should consider releasing (especially when we are nearing 100 protected players).

5) When viewing staff/scouts, have the up and down arrow by their name like you do for players so you can jump down to the next line.
This would be really helpful as the staff page can take sometime to load when you are several decades into simming.

Speaking of staffs/scouts, I'd like to see an * or some other symbol next to a person's name if they are a former NHL player, perhaps a different symbol if they are a former player of your team. More of a thematic thing than a game play. If i see a few scout/coach that I consider equal, I may go with the former player - especially if they happened to be on my team in the years past.
