Walkers news: Sept. 10 -- Detroit 7, St. Louis 3

Record: 60-81, 7th, 17.5 GB Springfield
Detroit starting pitcher Chris Terry tossed 6.2 shutout innings, and the Diesels beat up on St. Louis starter Justin Doughtie for six runs in the first four innings, as it won 7-3 at Tiger Stadium (1980).
Terry (8-4) didn't allow a hit until Jovan Gill doubled with one out in the top of the fifth inning.
Overall, Terry allowed just two hits while striking out nine and walking none.
The Diesels wasted little time taking control battering Dougtie for four runs in the bottom of the first.
They put their first three runners on base -- sandwiching doubles from Edgar Suarez and Kyle Tucker around a walk to Shinya Mori -- the Suarez double scored a pair.
Bill Pena later hit a two-out, two-run homer to make it 4-0.
Detroit chased Doughtie with two more runs in the fourth.
Suarez collected another RBI with his second double of the game.
Kelly Allain later drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 6-0.
The Diesels made it 7-0 in the bottom of the sixth against the St. Louis bullpen.
Terry led off with a double and scored on a one-out double by Mori.
The Walkers got all three of their runs in the top of the eighth.
Kyren Paris collected a pair of RBIs with a double.
After Terry made his exit, four relievers, Jorge Ariza (0.1 IP), Justin Burris (0.1), Kleiber Bordones (0.2) and Nate Wilson (1.0), combined to finish the game for Detroit.
