Indianapolis jumped on St. Louis starting pitcher Justin Dougtie for four runs in the bottom of the first inning, and the Racers never looked back in posting a 7-3 win at the Astrodome (1995).
The Racers won the final three games of the four-game series.
Doughtie allowed the first three Racers batters of the game to reach base, including an RBI double from Jake Parker.
After finally getting an out, a strikeout of Adrian Penucci, Tony Galvan blasted a 3-2 pitch 327 feet over the wall in right field to make it 4-0.
The Indy lead eventually reached 7-0.
Parker took Doughtie deep with two outs in the fourth to make it 5-0.
An inning later, pitcher Danny Munos connected on a two-out, two-run single off Doughtie.
Munos shut out the River Walkers into the eighth inning before allowing a three run home run to Wes Cohen.
Overall, Munos pitched eight innings allowing three runs on five hits. He struck out seven and didn't walk a batter.
Devin Hansen took care of the ninth for the Walkers.
