Walkers news: Dec. 4 -- St. Louis sends outfield prospects to Louisville for SP Martin
Looking to add a top three starting pitcher, the St. Louis River Walkers have traded outfield prospects Joe Bien and Lance Brown to Louisville in exchanged for right-hander Jim Martin.
The 29-year-old Martin went 16-10 with a 3.50 ERA for the Sluggers last season in 33 starts.
For his career, Martin is 39-49 with a 4.56 ERA in 161 games/135 starts.
A first-round draft pick in the 2029 draft, Bien spent the 2033 season between AAA Memphis and AA Springfield.
For the Redbirds, he hit .321 with one homer and nine RBIs in 26 games.
At Springfield, Bien played in 31 games batting .281 with four homers and 31 RBIs.
In his minor-league career, Bien has played in 556 games batting .303 with 37 homers and 63 RBIs.
A 17th-round draft pick in the 2031 draft, Brown spent the 2033 season at Class A Johnson City, where he hit .218 with eight homers and 26 RBIs in 39 games.
In his minor league career, Brown is a .357 hitter with 38 homers and 147 RBIs in 135 games.
