Walkers news: March 21 -- Deal sends Scott and Baker to Indy for power-hitting infielder
The St. Louis River Walkers have announced a trade with the Indianapolis Racers which would send 1B/OF Rick Scott and right-handed reliever Kevin Baker to Indy in exchange for 1B/SS prospect Billy Taylor.
Scott, 29, has spent quite a bit of time in the majors with the Walkers, including as the team's primary first baseman in 2031.
In 296 games in St. Louis, Scott has hit .235 with 74 homers and 166 RBIs.
Last season, Scott was the MVP of the Pacific Coast League American Conference after hitting .321 with 43 homers and 118 RBIs in 112 games.
Baker also has bounced back and forth between St. Louis and Memphis.
The 27-year-old pitched in 36 games for the Walkers in 2033, going 1-2 with five saves and a 2.70 ERA.
For his career, Baker has pitched in 61 MBL games, owning a 2-3 record with six saves and a 3.11 ERA.
Taylor, 25, is better rated defensively as a first baseman but also can play shortstop owns all kinds of power.
In 619 minor league games, Taylor owns a .259 batting average with 142 homers and 412 RBIs
