You had to be TOUGH to be a pitcher in 1906...

Question is why a bullpen full of relievers? Lots of team back then on had 5,6,7 pitchers on entire staff. And they didn't exactly throw like they do now. Most players were kinda on smallish size too. I've read stories that balls were so bad they couldn't be hit hard. I have a book in my possession I wish I could share with people about how the game was played back then. I was somewhat shocked on some of the stuff done. I'll try to find it and post the name of book. One of the craziest things was owners would hire rifle marksmen to try and shoot possible run scored flyballs out of the air. But to be serious about what you posted I'm more shocked the game let a pitcher stay in so long with out using position players. LOL. Thanks for the boxscore. I was a first for me.
