Historic Offensive Performance in 28-0 Dark Victory
It was a historic offensive performance for the Dark Bloodworms as they cruised over the Orange Tourists, 28-0, in the second game of the season for both teams. The Bloodworms scored their runs thanks to 20 hits, including five home runs, and walking 12 times.
"This was unbelievable," Dark manager Jose Castillo said. "I told the guys to swing at good pitches and watch bad ones like they did yesterday. I didn't imagine this."
Outfielders Adam Brewer and Steve Fireball each had four hits. 1B Just Salvage drove in six runs, including a three-run home run. C Mitchell Dominguez drove in seven, with a grand slam and three-run homer.
Pitcher Warren Gee, though, was the hero of the game. He pitched a complete-game four-hit shutout, striking out five. He also was 3 for 5 from the plate, including a grand slam, a walk, two runs scored, and four RBI.
