17 April 2300 - Cave Crickets Wins, 11-0, as Diner Mystifies Grape
John Diner pitched a strong game at King Cola Park at Kiddie Kingdom today, blanking the Grape Painted Ghouls 11-0. Diner allowed no runs on 7 hits, totaled 7 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk.
Victory manager Gogetem Thompson said he could tell immediately it was going to be a good game for Diner.
"Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," Thompson said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
18 April 2300 - Bloodworms, Gee Blank Orange, 28-0
The Dark Bloodworms rolled to an easy 28-0 win over the Orange Tourists at Ol' Sugartop Ballpark at Dry Rock Gulch today. Leading the way to victory was starter Warren Gee, who shackled the Orange Tourists and held them scoreless on a 4-hitter.
"This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Gee said in his postgame press conference.
23 April 2300 - Week's Premier Performer Honored by NWL
Phil Roachrider is respected by most Victory Cave Crickets fans for his no-frills style of play. The 28-year-old left fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Nuka World League Player of the Week honors.
He compiled a .440 average (11-for-25) with 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
