Small note: I simmed the May 1 games before I remembered to capture stats, so there are some deviations in statistical leaders from what should be represented.

Players of the Month
NCA Announces Outstanding Batter Award: Snap, crackle and pop!
In April, Dustin Mart snapped up the North Charles Association Batter of the Month trophy by cracking 25 hits and popping 11 home runs.
For the month he hit a solid .362 with 26 RBIs and 14 runs scored. The Nordhagen Beach first baseman also picked up 12 walks to compile a .451 on-base percentage.
Gep Takes SCA's Best Bat Trophy: Diamond City Swatters fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in April.
Oren Gep put up a remarkable month at the age of 22 and has been named the South Charles Association Batter of the Month.
For the month, Gep hit .419 with 12 home runs, 26 RBIs and 25 runs scored.
NCA Selects Jerry April's Top Starter: Abernathy Adamantium starter Gerald Jerry has collected the North Charles Association Pitcher of the Month award for a run of lights-out performances.
"This town really appreciates it when you're going well," said Jerry. "They might boo you when you're getting knocked around, but they love you when you're mowin' them down."
In April the 34-year-old compiled a 4-0 record in 4 starts with a 1.93 ERA. He threw 32.2 innings, fanning 16 while walking 2.
Ninjas Starter Named April's Premier Pitcher: There was nobody finer on the mound in April and Phlip Wallace cruised to the South Charles Association Pitcher of the Month award today.
He was 4-0 with a 2.13 ERA while piling up 30 strikeouts in 38 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .211 batting average.
NCA Selects Rookie Star of the Month: A veritable toddler to the North Charles Association, Gene Leftswipe just sewed up the Rookie of the Month trophy for April.
Over the past month the 21-year-old right fielder for Concord hit .375 with 24 hits, 4 home runs and 20 runs batted in. He also logged 10 walks and compiled a .453 on-base percentage.
South Charles Association Names Rookie of Month: Youngster Bat Savelli emerged as the latest South Charles Association Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Egret deserved the honor, batting .225 with no home runs and 9 runs batted in. Is the month of April a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Savelli enjoy the limelight.
Five Rookies to Watch
NCA Rookie of the Month -
RF Gene Leftswipe, Concord - Stats above
Outlook: A 21st-round selection in the 2296 Inaugural Draft, Leftswipe has finally developed into a player. Batting out of position at the cleanup spot, but leads the 1st-place Radstags in batting average and stolen bases. Second on the team in home runs and tied for the lead in RBI with star LF Dan Erb. His 4 HR is already a career high in a season for him, never hitting more than 3 in a season in the BMU. Definitely a top reason why Concord has had early success this season.
Scouting Report: Good glove with good speed could allow him to play CF eventually. A steal master may make him among the CBO leaders in steals. Has improved pitch recognition which saw his batting average shoot up to .381 last season in the BMU. Seems to be the prototypical leadoff hitter in a lineup. Neutral personality, doesn't stand out in a crowd for good or bad reasons.
SCA Rookie of the Month -
RF Bat Savelli, Egret - Stats above
Outlook: The best so far in a weak rookie crop for the SCA, Savelli is batting leadoff for the Ninjas. He needs to improve on getting on base more often and then not getting picked off or thrown out trying to steal when he does get on base. He was originally drafted 14th overall by Sunshine Tidings but was traded to the Ninjas in June of last season.
Scouting Report: Once he masters his contact potential, capable of hitting .333 or better. Not a great eye, though, so will swing at bad pitches often. Talented as a defensive player and runner. Has a strong enough arm to be a pitcher but concentrated his efforts on gunning out runners from RF to home plate. Cares about others and is considered a good listener, which makes coaches happy. Intuitive and probably will be a coach in the CBO if he wants to be once his playing days are over.
1B Lannie Tykeson, Easy Town - 26/81 (.321), 3 2B, 5 HR, 12 R, 20 RBI, 12 BB, 17 SO, SB
Outlook: The former 5th-round pick in the 2296 Rookie Draft, Tykeson has something that scouts missed back them: adaptability. He has turned the scouts' mistakes into motivation to thrive, and now he has his chance with the Assaultrons. Batting third in a talented lineup, Tykeson has emerged as a premier hitter, which made him a close call against Leftswipe for the Rookie of the Month honors. He is probably the favorite to win the year's NCA Red Rocket Rookie Award. While he was being groomed to be a 1B/SP, Easy Town has been using him exclusively at 1B, which is probably for their benefit.
Scouting Report: A future star. He has the potential to lead the league in batting average, while being high in homers and low in walks and strikeouts. Scouts see him as being similar to Goodneighbor's Bryan Assman in terms of hitting success. Not the best glove, but most certainly the best arm at 1B. Could play at 3B or in RF if needed to take advantage of his arm strength. Not a fast runner, but could use his intelligence to swipe a base or two when he notices trends in the opposing pitcher. Hard-nosed but not dirty. Willing to work for success.
1B Ajani Peacock, County Crossing - 24/83 (.289), 4 2B, 3B, HR, 14 R, 9 RBI, 16 BB, 17 SO, 8 SB, 2 CS
Outlook: The 3rd-overall pick of the 2298 Rookie Draft, Peacock has quickly emerged as a good prospect after only one year in the BMU. He's not on a good team, which has probably helped earn him early playtime, but that may also help him develop more quickly than a lot of the other players his age. Another prototypical leadoff hitter type, he should help the Bloodbugs win a few more games than they would have without him. Being used at 1B because of need, but his best position is 3B.
Scouting Report: Looks to be a .300+ hitter who should be among the league leaders in doubles and possibly triples, in time. Already good at making contact, even on bad pitches. Will draw walks more than the average player. Super fast runner that may lead the CBO in SB in his rookie campaign. Everyday player who could move into either corner IF position as other players need days off. Completes games by hitting the weights or jogging. High energy, high stamina player. Superior work ethic. May be the player to turn the County Crossing franchise around.
SP Mike Rubric, Abernathy - 5 G, 3 GS, 2-0, 1.53 ERA, 29.1 IP, 25 HA, 4 BB, 16 K
Outlook: The 9th-overall selection in the 2297 draft, Rubric was successful in two years with the Adamantium's BMU team, the Bunker Hill Gun Fu. He was called up as a reliever late in the season but has emerged as a starter this season after pitching as a reliever to start. Currently behind Gerald Jerry and Brad Westing in the rotation but looks to be the Abernathy ace sooner than later.
Scouting Report: Four-pitch repertoire with a killer curveball. Fantastic control that will only get better, which will probably lead to an excellent WHIP. Pretty good stuff for his 95 MPH fastball. Competitive player. Enthusiastic in life and on the mound. Leader personality makes teammates want to do their best for him.
