Walkers news: May 26 -- Cedar Rapids 7, St. Louis 3

Record: 27-22, 4th, 5 GB Cedar Rapids
Cedar Rapids pounded St. Louis starting pitcher Devin Rogers for six runs in five innings, and the Grapplers rode that to a 7-3 win at Connie Mack Stadium (1960).
Cedar Rapids wasted little time getting to Rogers, putting up four runs in the bottom of the first inning to go up 4-0.
A trio of doubles -- from Travis Swaggerty, Steve Ricca and Miguel Mena -- highlighted the outburst.
Ricca drove in a pair with his two-bagger.
Mena's double plated the inning's final run.
Sandwiched in-between was a run-scoring fly ball by Rece Hinds.
Reigning NL MVP Jose Morillo made it 5-0 in the bottom of the second with a run-scoring single.
Hinds made the final dent with a two-out homer off Rogers in the fifth, making it 6-0.
No out through the first five innings by Grapplers starting pitcher Edwin Rivera, the Walkers broke through for three runs in the top of the sixth.
Izaac Pacheco opened the inning by reaching on an error by Rivera.
Jovan Gill followed with the first St. Louis hit of the game, a single which moved Pacheco to third.
Pacheco scored on a passed ball whle Freudis Nova was at the plate.
Nova then doubled to score Gill.
A Jose Segura fly ball later scored Nova.
A pinch-hit RBI single from Dane Finch off Gil Meier in the eighth made it a 7-3 final.
Rivera (4-3) completed that sixth inning before exiting. He allowed the three runs on two hits. He struck out two and didn't issue a walk.
Victor Ortiz worked two innings of scoreless relief.
Antonio Echevaria handled the ninth for Cedar Rapids.
