Walkers news: June 10 -- Springfield 7, St. Louis 6

Record: 34-29, 4th, 6.5 GB Cedar Rapids
Justin Schneider provided another big bomb, this time hitting a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to help lift Springfield to a 7-6 win over St. Louis at Oracle Park.
The previous day, Schneider homered twice, including a two-run homer in a decisive four-run seventh inning to help the Railers to a 7-2 win.
This time, Springfield trailed 6-5 going into the bottom of the seventh.
The River Walkers had scored three runs in the top of the inning, on back-to-back homers from Nick Shaw (a two-run homer) and Jose Ramirez, both off reliever Fernando Fernando.
In the bottom of the eighth, Ruben Villanueva got on base in front of Schneider with a one-out single off St. Louis reliever Nick Ruffalo.
Schneider then powered a 2-2 pitch 417 feet over the high wall in right to put the Railers in front.
Springfield starting pitcher Marcos Banditelli worked five innings, allowing two runs on five hits.
Eric Deese pitched a scoreless sixth.
Fernando got roughed up in his two-thirds of an inning on the mound in the seventh.
Nick Thiel wrapped up the seventh without further damage and pitched a scoreless eighth.
Thiel (5-1) would get the win.
