Walkers news: June 12 -- Rockford 5, St. Louis 3

Record: 34-31, 4th, 6.5 GB Cedar Rapids
Wade Martin hit a three-run home run to break up a scoreless game and highlight a four-run bottom of the third inning for Rockford, as the Lightning went on to defeat St. Louis 5-3 at RFK Stadium (2005).
Matt Weaver got things rolling for Rockford in the bottom of the third with a lead-off double off River Walkers rookie starter Devin Rogers.
Rogers retired the next two, but Daylen Reyes came through with a single.
to score Weaver and make it 1-0.
Blaze Jordan followed with a single.
Two pitches later, Martin torched an 0-1 pitch 453 feet over the wall in left center and Rockford led 4-0.
St. Louis did climb to within 4-3, with a big inning in the top of the fifth.
Rogers drove in the final two runs with a single off Lightning starting pitcher Gregg Krawczyk.
But the only run scored the rest of the way was of the insurance sort -- Alex Freeland with a two-out single in the sixth off Cory Tiller to score Erik Stowe -- as Rockford claimed the win.
Krawczyk (1-1) allowed three runs on four hits over the first six innings.
After that, Bill Singer, Ricky Cisneros and Nate Green all pitched scoreless innings.
Green collected his 18th save.
