Walkers news: June 14 -- Rockford 3, St. Louis 2

Record: 34-33, 4th, 6.5 GB Cedar Rapids
Trailing 2-1, Rockford tallied two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and went on to defeat St. Louis 3-2 and complete a three-game sweep at RFK Stadium.
The loss was the sixth in a row for the River Walkers.
St. Louis led 2-0 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, when the Lightning got on the board for the first time on a lead off homer from Scott Baron off Walkers starting pitcher Angel Tiburcio.
It was Josh Forgy who was on the mound for the Walkers to start the seventh.
He got Joe Coffey to ground out to lead off the inning.
But than the Lightning went to work.
Alex Freeland doubled, and he moved to third on a Phillip Clarke ground out.
Gil Meier took over for the Walkers, only to be greeted by a Matt Weaver single which tied the game.
Four pitches later, Rockford was in front thanks to a double from Baron.
Former St. Louis prospect Kurt Halter pitched the opening 5.2 innings for the Lightning, allowing two runs on four hits. He struck out seven and walked four.
Bill Singer got the final out of the sixth inning.
Omari Gordon (4-1) handled a scoreless seventh, and for the second consecutive game earn the win.
Brad Tonks pitched the eighth.
Nate Green sent St. Louis down in order in the ninth for his 19th save.
