Devin Rogers took a shutout into the eighth inning to help St. Louis end an eight-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over Cleveland at Busch Stadium (2006).
Rogers (2-3) seventh start of his major league career was easily his best, as he went 7.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits. He struck out three and walked two.
The 25-year-old exited after throwing 111 pitches.
With a runner on first, Mac Horvath, who had reached on an error by River Walkers third baseman Freudis Nova, Luke Dunkin took over for St. Louis.
Edgar Bustillos hammered his third pitch over the left-field wall to make it 5-2.
Dunkin followed that with a strike out of Fernando Jimenez to end the inning.
Scott Rissler set the Juke Box Heroes down in order in the ninth for his fifth save.
The Walkers jumped in front in the bottom of the first on a two-out, two-run double by Nova off Cleveland starting pitcher Devin Eyre.
Chris Duncan hit a two-run homer off Eyre in the fourth to make it 4-0.
Jared Thomas connected on a two-out RBI single off Luis Palomo in the fifth to put the Walkers ahead 5-0.
