1985 - NLCS - Game 1
Game 1 stared off in New York as the Reds sent Charlie Leibrandt (13-15, 3.34) against the Mets’ Jack O’Connor (14-12, 3.19). The Mets did all their damage in the 3rd when they scored 3 runs off of Leibrandt. Two straight singles by Tony Fernandez and Thad Bosley were followed by two straight doubles by Otto Velez and Dan Graham. New York’s Jack O’Connor only gave up a single run on 3 hits in 6 innings to take the win. Mark Lee gave up a hit in the 9th but kept Cincinnati off the board to earn the save for New York and give the Mets a 1-0 lead. The player of the game was O’Connor.
