How the Racers came back and won game seven is bewildering to me... I am beginning to strongly suspect OOTPB programs dramatic endings like this to keep us hooked to the game... this is not the first time I have seen it happen in the playoffs... when Claxton jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first frame, I told myself that Rolling Hills would probably win it.

(My comments below are based on just casual observations and not based on statistical research)

You will notice it if you play out your games, there are too many super plays in the outfield... too many diving catches... too many standout plays... it used to show up in the PBP text much more often... not so much anymore as I use the animation... super plays only happen in the outfield... infield web gems were just described in the text... you don't see many standout plays in the infield animations.

The super plays in the outfield are usually only animation wise. If you read the PbP text a lot of times it's just a simple running catch. It's because the 3D animation is just an approximation, and doesn't always match up with the PbP text.

I keep score at games when I go to MLB and Minor League games... I put a star by an outstanding play on my scorebook... over the last 20 years I only give out a star a game, if any at all.

OOTP will have 3-5 super plays a game when I use the animation ... that's not realistic.

15 major league games each day will result in less than 10 web gems.
Most of the time we only get 5 or 6 gems on the recap shows.
If you play out 15 OOTP games you would have 50 to 150 web gems each day.

As far as Pro Cup MVP, Akin was picked by the AI as Pro Cup Series MVP.

I always use the entire playoffs as the criterion... I choose the player that did the most over the three rounds.

It will be tough to pick one this year.
Amazing finish to your IPA Pro Cup. I've had some incredible endings to my IPA Pro Cups and League Championship Series as well, They should be a rare thing, instead it seems to happen every few years. I'm not complaining though, as it makes it pretty darn exciting. I'd rather see an amazing finish that comes down to the very last pitch, instead of an 11-1 rout which is what I got in my most recent championship series.

As for the super plays in the outfield, I think that most of the times if you read the PbP text it's something along the lines of a simple running catch. It's because the 3D animation is just an approximation of the PbP text, and doesn't always display accurately what actually happened.
