World Champions! For the third time in four seasons and 9th in the last 14 the Rays win the World Series. Every one of these games against the Cubs was tough, and today was no exception as Bo Angeac's first-inning 3-run homer, an inning kept alive by a Cubs error, stood up for the duration in a 3-0 win. Nate Thompson was excellent again, but was forced to leave in the 6th with shoulder inflammation that will force him to miss at least the first month of next season. He should have been named series MVP for his 2 wins without allowing a run but BNN saw fit to give it to Omar Rodriguez. Kikuo Kawase made it interesting when he loaded the bases with nobody out in the 9th but got a strikeout and a double play to end it. A look at the celebrations:
Poor Marco Santa Cruz. It was his error which extended the inning for Angeac to hit the 3-run homer, and then he grounded into the double play to end the Series.
