The Angels came in with a league-best 36-20 record, and three days later they left Tropicana Field with a 36-23 record as the red-hot Rays made it 17 of 19 with a 3-game sweep of LA.

Transaction: Chris Sale was activated to start Game 1 and Joey Gallo was sent to AAA Durham. We're going with a 3-man bench and a 6-man rotation as Brendan McKay can't be sent down.

Game 1 was a tight 3-2 affair into the 6th before the Rays broke it open 6 runs on their way to a 10-4 rout. Clutchman is hitting 343/434/743 as a Ray and is a big a reason as any for the turnaround. Aaron Fletcher got win #3 in relief and Nick Anderson saved (#13) for the second straight day.
