Colorado went all the way to the final, before falling to Boston in 7.

One free agency move was made, Nino Niederetter turned down a 3 year deal, to move to Toronto, so, Carter Verhaeghe, on the back of a 50 point year in Florida, was picked up on a 3 year deal. He'll probably slot in the 2nd line alongside Granlund and P-L Dubois

Draft
We go into the 2022 NHL Draft with 16 picks, 2 in the 2nd, 3 in the 3rd, 5 in the 4th and 2 in the 6th. Giving us a bit of play if we need to move up or around in the draft. Detroit won the draft lottery, placing them in prime position to pick up Shane Wright, giving them something that they've needed for a while.
However, they went against the grain, and for the 2nd year on the trot, Michigan Wolverines saw one of their players go as first pick, with Seamus Casey going to Little Caesers. Wright went 3rd pick to Toronto.

Nemec had made the move already to play top level hockey in Sweden, at Linkoping, the same club where Filip Bystedt was in the junior setup. The Finnish based Slovak, Juraj Slafkovsky looked an interesting prospect, defensively he wasn't the strongest, but, he is highly rated physically, and with another year of work, he would be a very interesting player to have.
