I love this game and every year it gets better. If I were to ask for some minor tweaks, they'd be these:

Get rid of the auto-renewal of the GM's contract. You end up with no leverage. Also, that conversation should happen much earlier in the season, even in the summer before the contract expires.

Have periodic "emails from your agent" that let you know that other teams are interested in hiring you. At the moment, you have to quit one job to find out whether you'd be considered for another.

The GM of the Year is a total mess. However that is determined is just wrong. In Challenge Mode, I built an amazing scouting network and made some shrewd moves that took the Canadiens to 7 Stanley Cup victories in 12 years, then did the same for the Islanders (4 cups in 7 years) and the Senators (2 cups in 5). I blew past Cliff Fletcher and Conn Smythe on the all-time list, yet I was only GMOY once! Given that the honour is worth even more points, it begins to grind the gears.
