Down 1-0, Evansville jumped on St. Louis starting pitcher Angel Tiburcio for three runs in the bottom of the season, and the Bosses rode that to a 6-2 win at Yankee Stadium (1968).
The Bosses banged out three singles in the inning -- Danny Ocampo drove in the inning's first run with his, while the other two scored on a single by Royce Lewis -- but they also benefited from a walk, a hit batter and an error by shortstop Chris Duncan.
The River Walkers did draw to within 3-2 in the top of the third, a bases-loaded single by Duncan off Bosses starting pitcher Ramon Lewis scored Nick Shaw, but that was all they could mange.
The rest of the scoring was done by Evansville.
Leon drove in one of their two runs in the fourth with a single. Lewis plated the other, earning his second RBI of the game, with a fly ball to center.
Andrew Allison drove in Tommy Gardner with a single off Tiburcio in the fifth.
Leon didn't last long enough to earn the win, in his four innings he alowed two runs on eight hits.
Stephon Harrison (3-0) netted the victory with scoreless fifth and sixth innings.
After that, it was scoreless innings from Ray Pocock, Travis Krogman and Craig Martinez.
