Walkers news: Oct. 1 -- Quad City 9, St. Louis 7, 13 innings

Record: 74-88, 5th, 26 GB Des Moines
Gabriel Hagan led off the top of the 13th inning with a home run off St. Louis relief pitcher Jim Martin, and Quad City went on to defeat St. Louis 9-7 at Busch Stadium (2006).
The victory gave the Thunder wins in two of the three games in the season-ending series between the teams.
The Thunder added another run after the Hagan homer.
Christian Moore followed the home run with a single.
Martin, who was pitching because the St. Louis bullpen was low on arms and it was the last game of the season, then exited the contest.
Nick Ruffalo took over and took some lumps.
He opened with a walk to Ben Nelson.
However, he got Paul Totten to hit into a double play.
But Angel Solis followed with a double to make it 9-7.
At one point, the River Walkers had trailed 7-2.
They tied it in the bottom of the eighth on a Nathaniel Dixon double off Mike Evanson.
Pascal Marcovicci lasted just 3.2 innings as the starter for the Thunder.
he allowed five runs on five his.
After that, QC used eight relief pitchers -- beginning with Russell Berg, who worked two innings and allowed one run.
After that, it was Bobby Stover (0.1 IP), Evanson (1.2), Edwin Cervantes (0.1), Troy Respasky (1.0), Craig Fritzler (2.0), Scott Reeves (1.0) and Drew Mendoza (1.0).
Reeves (2-0) earned the win. Mendoza notched his third save.
