The St. Louis River Walkers have acquired 30-year-old relief pitcher Nick Strother from the Toledo Mud Hens in exchange for 27-year-old right-hander Kyle Smarr.
Strother has spent the past four seasons as the closer for Toledo. He recorded a career-high 40 saves in 2031.
Last season, Strother got into 64 games and went 8-6 with 29 saves and a 3.00 ERA. He blew eight saves.
Going to Toledo will be right-hander Kyle Smarr.
Smarr made nine starts in the majors for the Walkers in 2034, going 4-4 with a 4.85 ERA.
Smarr went 6-6 for AAA Memphis, posting a 3.81 ERA.
