2. Lexington
3. Quincy
4. Concord
5. Jamaica Plain
6. Salem
7. Roxbury
8. Easy Town
Eight other teams have appeal but are still not as big: Nordhagen Beach, Fort Hagen, Starlight, Goodneighbor (S. Boston), University Point, Atom, Vault 81, and Fairline Hill Estates.
The rest are farming or basic goods communities, so their population would not be as high: The Slog, County Crossing, Finch Farm, Abernathy, Sunshine Tidings, Warwick, Oberland, and Egret.

I mean, that was my next thought, population centers (I can't help it, what with a background in stats). I didn't want to project too much though. It's interesting that a lot of our favorites are the middle tier though when you spell it out that way. Reminds me a bit of how the EPL is distributed. Yeah, there's lots of London teams, but being a London team isn't a free pass, and historically the North is where the sport's been strong.
