12 June - Bloodworms End Bobb's Streak: Ryan Bobb's 21-game hitting streak has now come and gone. It was snapped today as the Wild Gatorclaws suffered a 7-1 setback against the Dark Bloodworms.
Bobb went without a hit in 4 trips to the plate. He was visibly upset during a postgame press conference, but it appeared that the streak had little to do with it.
"The hitting streak was one of those things where it was fun while it lasted, but I'm not going to lose any sleep about it tonight," he said. "On the other hand, I am going to lose sleep about dropping this game today."
This year Bobb is hitting .366 with 78 hits, 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and has scored 33 runs.
16 June - Harris Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games: Orange lost to the Cherry Ghoulrillas 12-1 at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park today, but Die Harris kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 1 hit. The Tourists first baseman has now delivered hits in 20 straight games.
"Die has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Orange manager Nick Dev told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had."
Die Harris struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
This year Harris has batted at a .355 pace with 86 hits, 3 home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 47 times.
18 June - Salvage Bags NWL Best Player Award: A veteran of baseball wars, Justin Salvage knows how to stay with a stroke that's working for him. The 37-year-old first baseman for the Bloodworms batted .545 last week on his way to the Nuka World League Player of the Week award.
His noteworthy week also featured 12 hits in 22 at-bats, 5 home runs, 13 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
Salvage on the season is hitting .371 with 18 home runs. His stats include 73 RBIs and 43 runs scored.
