This is interesting. I matched the DB's Bill Brennan against my version of English heavyweight Tom Cowler 100 times in the Scheduler. Brennan won 56 bouts and Cowler won 40 with 4 draws.

In real life, they fought three times and Cowler won all three. In the last fight, at Buffalo, New York, Brennan entered the ring with a record of 25-4-1 and Cowler was 36-10-1. Cowler clearly outboxed Brennan over ten rounds.

I'm thinking either Cowler needs an upgrade or Brennan is overrated.

After the third loss to Cowler, Brennan won a string of fights, mostly against fringe contenders like Bartley Madden (2), Joe Bonds (2), Bob Devere, and Tom McMahon. He lost or drew with Battling Levinsky and Jim Coffey.

Cowler won a couple then lost one to Frank Moran, four of his next five, all to Kid Norfolk (brilliant management?). It was all downhill from there.
