If you start them older, they'll import at (approximately) the level they were at historically at that age, so the older you'll import them, the more likely they are to reach their full potential. At younger ages, they'll be starting farther back from the peak, so there's more of a chance that something goes wrong with their development that keeps them from fulfilling their potential.
