It drove in Nick Jernigan, who had singled with one out.
After getting a run in the fourth, Travis Hawkins drove in Jonathan Vaughns with a single off Martin, KC broke the game open with four runs in the sixth.
Pinch-hitter T.J. Leitch and Jernigan both went deep to drive in the two runs, Martin surrendering both homers.
With a runner on first, Oscar Martinez took over for Martin.
He allowed the Monarchs to load the bases before Vaughns connected on a double, which scored two more runs making it 8-2.
