The third hit, a double by Ramon Puente, scored two runs and led to McDonald's exit.

Dan Hillard made it back-to-back double, his scoring Coke to make it 2-0.
St. Louis busted the game wide open with a six-run eighth.
McDonald actually drove in the first two runs with a double off Josh Bankes.
Miguel Peralta then replaced Bankes only to give up a RBI single to Bob Saavedra, and later a three-run homer to Jose Segura.
Zachary Stella got the final two outs of the eighth for St. Louis, also allowing the Monarchs' third run on a sacrifice fly.
Scott Rissler set the side down in order in the ninth.
The return of Walkers catcher Jackson Miller lasted just five days, as he injured his back while running the bases.

His primary backup, Zach Wenman, also is on the injured list meaning the Walkers will have to look to AAA Memphis to find a backup.
