I just finished the Boys of Summer by Roger Kahn... fine book about those dastardly Dodgers of the 1950s, the arch-nemeses of my beloved Cardinals and Stan the Man Musial.

What makes the book special is it covers the Dodgers in their prime baseball years and then 10 years later after retirement... Kahn goes to each retired player and catches up on their present life... it's a special story.

I just started Red Smith on Baseball, stories written by the great New York Herald Tribune and New York Times sportswriter Red Smith.

Even the book foreword is great... this is gonna be a good 'un, too.
I'll have to read some baseball books. I have Ball Four by Jim Bouton sitting on my bookshelf.
