Well, give the Brewers credit for battling in this one and forcing extra innings, even if the final result is the same and they now trail 2 games to none in the series. At least now the scene shifts to Denver and maybe they can redeem themselves a bit at home.
Starter
Bryant Cox was not good- giving up 5 runs on 5 hits and 5 walks in his 4 innings pitched. The bullpen was nearly perfect though (
Austin Bond,
Paul Johnson,
Rand Pinti, and
Tim Shore all pitching at least an inning without allowing any runs) until
Jeff Mariani allowed the game-winning run in the 11th.
Still no word on
Sadahige Kawaski's diagnosis or prognosis.
