Walkers news: Sept. 1 -- St. Louis adds two from Memphis as rosters expand

The St. Louis River Walkers have added a pair of players from AAA Memphis, with the Sept. 1 expansion of rosters from 26 to 28 players.
Getting the call ups are left-handed pitcher Ron Cox and first baseman/third baseman Mark Herman.
Cox, 23, has gone 14-5 with three saves in 29 games/23 starts for the Redbirds this season. He boasts a 2.73 ERA for the season.
A 23rd-round pick in the 2029 draft, Cox will likely be asked to pitch out of the bullpen for St. Louis.
Herman, 22, only recently was called up to AAA and has been on fire at the plate for the Redbirds hitting .441 with seven homers and 25 RBIs in 28 games.
Before that, Herman had excelled at AA Springfield, hitting .283 with 11 homers and 56 RBIs in 103 games.
The No. 3 overall pick in the 2034 draft, Herman will provide depth at the corner infield positions.
Memphis owns a Pacific Coach League-best 96-38 record, and a 12-game lead over New Orleans in the AC South Division.
