IT'S NITTY GRITTY TIME IN THE IPA... PRO CUP SERIES STARTS THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON IN TURON
The Turon Typhoons and the Wynnamac Sundowners have survived the vicious IPA cut so far... after the 154-game regular season and two intense rounds of postseason playoffs they are still around, alive and kicking and optimistic... Turon and the Macs will determine the 2070 IPA Pro Cup champion in a best-of-three series this weekend.
Turon will host two of the games... the Pro Cup Series opens at Typhoon Stadium on Friday, heads to Granger Field on Saturday for game two... and then, if needed, the Pro Cup Trophy will be decided in Turon on Sunday afternoon... the Typhoons got homefield advantage because they possess the better postseason record... Turon is 4-1 in the playoffs, while Wynnamac is 4-2... both teams compiled 99-55 records in the regular season, which is the first criteria to determine homefield advantage, followed by postseason records and regular-season run differentials.
Most baseball stargazers, astrologers and out-and-guessers are leaning toward Turon because of its standout pitching and defense... some knowledgeable baseball brainiacs make the same assessments... the Typhoons are favored to win the short series over the Macs... however, Turon has not shown any offense at all in the postseason playoffs, they have depended totally on their mound staff... some pundits say the Typhoons will have to score better than they did against White River and Red Bluff... one thing in Turon favor concerning the lack of offense... the Rascals and Red Sox have the best pitching corps in the Tycobbian Union... Wynnamac is not quite the same quality... the Typhoons offense will perk up in the Pro Cup Finals and bring the Pro Cup Trophy to Turon.
