Walkers news: Jan. 10 - Two-players land utility infielder Gomez from Louisville
The St. Louis River Walkers have acquired utility infielder Alfredo Gomez from the Louisville Sluggers, in exchange for third baseman/first baseman Jose Gonzalez and minor-league third baseman Xavier Sena.
Gomez, 25, can play first base, second base and shortstop.
He spent most of the 2035 season with the Sluggers, getting into 90 games/70 starts during which he hit .184 with five homers and 24 RBIs.
Gonzalez, 25, played 30 games with the Walkers in 2035 hitting .220 with one homer and seven RBIs.
Before that, he was with AAA Memphis, where in 61 games he batted .375 with nine homers and 46 RBIs.
Sena, 20, has played in 157 games between rookie ball and high-A, and batted .291 with 11 homers and 62 RBIs.
