Don't think I've posted the standings since the All-Star break so here's where things stand with two weeks left in the regular season:
There are no races in doubt in the AL, especially after Texas swept Oakland (who had pulled to within 4 1/2 back of them and is now 8 1/2) and laid claim to the second wild card. The Rays will face the winner of the Texas/Toronto wild card game and the White Sox will face off against the Astros in the ALDS.
The National League has a lot more suspense although Columbus and the Cubs have pulled away from their pursuers. The West is a 3-team race featuring 2 teams that have never made the playoffs in this save, the Rockies and the Giants. Only one will make the playoffs as none of them are wild card contenders. Those slots will go to two of Cincinnati, Milwaukee and Philadelphia.
