Not to get carried away with the comparison, because there's certainly a difference between a World Series game and a Wild Card game, but the play-by-play is nearly identical to 1988, Game One:
1) Two outs bottom of the ninth, Mike Davis/Cody Bellinger draws an unlikely walk
2) Davis/Bellinger steals second to get into scoring position and maybe change the dynamic & affect the pitcher
3) Gibson/Taylor hits an unlikely game-winning homer
Sure, Gibby's game-winner came with the Dodgers down a run, so if he makes an out instead, the game is over; whereas if Taylor makes an out, the game goes to extras. However, if Gibson makes an out, the Dodgers are merely down one game, with Hershiser pitching game two. Taylor's game-winner was in a win-or-go-home game.
