Walkers news: March 14 -- St. Louis lands free-agent second baseman Marcos Francis
The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the signing of 31-year-old second baseman Marcos Francis to a four-year contract.
Francis, a two-time All-Star and MVP of the 2034 World Series, accepted a deal worth $15.5 million per season in 2036 and 2037, which is followed by a player opt out.
If he remains in St. Louis, he will make $16 million in 2038, while the 2039 season includes a vesting option where he must play 145 games in 2038 to earn his contract for 2039.
Francis came up with Grand Rapids in 2028 and helped the Traders win the World Series in 2034.
His batting average for a 162 games is .264 with 25 homers and 83 RBIs.
Francis spent the 2035 season in Rockford, where he hit .253 with 18 homers and 76 RBIs.
