The Misfits came back from 5 runs down at home in the bottom of the 8th to tie the score against the Templeton Bay Slapsticks, capped off by Gordon Clyde Freeman's 472-foot 3-run home run, but we lost the game in the 11th, unfortunately, when we made at least one error, I believe, in the Misfits' last game. We have a lot of young players, or at least several players not very good yet at various positions, so our defensive skills so far aren't evidently very good in places, it seems.

GC is now batting .238/.239/.333 with 1 HR and 12 RBI in 13 games as a batter. Pitching-wise, he is 3-2 with a 2.92 ERA in 40 innings over five games, four of them complete games, including one 9-0 seven-hit shutout against New Horizons Park's Imaginers. He'd have a better record, though, no doubt, if we'd have had better defense in certain games.

As for AG, he is currently batting .186/.222/.233 in fifteen games as a hitter, with ten of those being starts. I don't think he's had enough playing time yet to really see his numbers improve enough, though. On the vRHP depth chart, he's currently listed as the third 1B, and for the vLHP one, he's listed as the third option at 1B as well at present.

I plan for him to see a lot of action, though, this season, at multiple positions, and not just at catcher. I'm currently using him at least as the personal catcher for GC when I can and when I remember, for instance. He is only lacking ratings at pitcher, shortstop, and center field right now, with his best rated position being first base.

Hopefully, by the end of the 1901 season, GC will have a pitcher rating of at least 80, and a 1B rating above 35 or 40, and perhaps even a rating at some other position, somehow. I'm going to try to get him a CF rating of at least a few points by the end of the season, I think, or a corner OF rating, at least. But, of course, that may take some doing, you know, folks.

Here's hoping the Motley Misfits can do better than they were expected to do this season, in any case. We were predicted to have a final record of 68-86 for the season, and we're currently sitting at 8-12 prior to the games of April 23, 1901, three games back. Nobody's really broken out just yet in the Novel House this season for the Good Times League, in truth.
